I’ve worked in Supply Chain & Logistics for my entire career and have loved almost every minute. When I started the concept of a supply chain was unknown to most people – nowadays its used in common parlance and often reported on as part of major news stories. So my career has spanned the growth of this business discipline and it’s been an exciting time to be in the sector.
I have had a balanced career working in corporate life in operational roles and in consultancy. This blend has allowed me to experience the thrill of running a team developing their supply chains, and to learn about supply chains in different business sectors, both private and public. All supply chains have nuances, but at heart there is a lot of similarity in the principles applied to them.
Latterly my focus has been on the importance of getting businesses to recognise the impact of everyday decisions on their supply chain – and the subsequent impact that has on business performance and profitability.

I’ve worked in manufacturing for over 30 years, with the last 20 years in the food industry. As a former CFO, COO and CEO I have been involved with businesses from a broad range of perspectives.
I have worked throughout Europe with organisations with turnover below £2m up to £500m. The issues are often the same, just a different size. A strong team, a genuine organizational culture and effective and honest communication need to be within the foundations of a business. Successful businesses treat cash as their lifeblood, and understanding how to measure what matters will help to guide and improve performance.
